Deleting Browser Cookies, Cache, & History Files

Internet Explorer 5.x+

  • Open Internet Explorer, pull-down the Tools menu, and select Internet Options. 
  • Click on the General Tab, in the middle of the open window click on "delete files", "delete cookies",” and "clear history".

Safari for Macintosh

  • Open Safari.
  • Go to Safari > Empty Cache. 
  • Go to History > Clear History.
  • Go to Safari > Preferences, and select the Security tab. Click "Show Cookies", "Remove All", then "Done".

Firefox 2.x+

Firefox for Windows

  • Open Firefox.
  • Go to Tools, and click Options.
  • Select the Privacy tab.
  • Click on Clear Cache and Clear Cookies.

Firefox for Macintosh

  • Open Firefox.
  • Go to Firefox, and click Preferences.
  • Select the Privacy tab.
  • View the "Cookies" tab and click the Clear Cookies Now.

Firefox for Linux

  • Open Firefox.
  • Go to Edit, and click Preferences
  • Click on the arrow near Privacy & Security, so a drop-down list pops up.
  • Click on Cookies and select Manage Stored Cookies.
  • Click on Remove All Cookies.
