Mary Fetherston has worked at the University of Rhode Island since Sepember 1997.

Initially hired as the Supervisor of the Language Learning Research Center, she took the LLRC content digital so that students could access content 24/7. She expanded the role of the LLRC into a media center for the entire building training students to provide after hours support for multimedia-rich courses.

In 2004, Mary was promoted to Manager, Help Desk-Contact. Building on the successes of the previous manager (Shao-Lien Yang), Mary professionalized the student staff by establishing a series of qualifications, instituting a student-authored on-line knowledge base, and streamlining the trouble ticket system.

In March 2009, her position was expanded to Associate Director, End User Support and Student Staff Development. This includes oversight of Classroom Media Assistance, the Help Desk, the Contact Center (Phone Operators), Student General- Use Computer Labs, DeskTop Support for all areas without an assigned Tech, and Licensed Software Distribution.
