Access

Card Swipe

Important Notes: Card Activation This auditorium is accessed with a card swipe lock. Before you can enter, you must have your URI ID card authorized for access to this room.

Test your card at least 1 business day prior to your first class meeting. If your card does not work, contact Facilities Services Access Control Office at 874- 4577, or e-mail at access@etal.uri.edu.





Media Equipment

Pastore 124 has the following equipment installed:

  • Installed LCD Projector
  • Electronic Projector screen
  • Creston Remote Control Device
  • Media rack (DVD, VCR Player)
  • Wireless Microphone
  • Wired/wireless Internet Access

Directions

Light Switches

Light Switches Step into the room. Light switches are located on the inside wall to your right. Two buttons controls illumination: top button On/Off Front rows; bottom button On/Off Rear rows.








Projector Screen Switch Controller

Installed LCD Projector The LCD Projector hangs stationary from the ceiling. The power and input are controlled by the Extron Switcher in the media rack. The projector screen switch is to the right of the screen above the rack.










Creston Remote Control Device

Creston Remote Control Device

Turning the projector On/Off:
Power On/Off the Projector using the Crestron Remote Control device.
Switching Inputs:
Select the appropriate input button on the Crestron Remote to display a media source through the projector.
Note: The Display Power ON and warm-up cycle time for the projector is 2 minutes. Any attempt to power OFF within this time period will crash the system. The warm-up time is done when the green light on the projector is no longer blinking. The projector can be re-powered ON- if needed again- after the 2-minute cool-down cycle.




Media Rack with VCR/DVD Players

Media Rack (DVD, VCR Player)

There is a rack in the classroom which holds a VCR/DVD player. Media controls for devices used in this room are stored in two open racks. PC and MAC computer inputs are available, as well as video playback. Please contact Steve Gesualdo in Pastore127, office phone 874-5098, email: steveg@uri.edu. Room media orientation is arranged by appointment prior to room use.






Microphone

Wireless Microphone

The wireless microphone unit is stored in the Media Console. The microphone receiver is configured to route the audio signal through the sound system speakers.
Attach the microphone to lecturer's lapel or collar. The power switch is located on top of the unit.
Remember: Turn OFF the Microphone when done. Return it to the media rack console.






Ethernet Outlet

Wired/Wireless Internet Access

Allows you to connect your laptop to the URI network while giving your presentation. The red dot indicates an active port.






Locking Up Procedures

1. Media Rack Main Power Switch remains ON.
2. Use the Crestron Remote to "Power OFF" the projector.
3. Remove your media and Power Off the media machine used. Power Off
your laptop. Return cables to the media rack.
4. Power OFF microphone and return to rack.
5. Turn the classroom Lights OFF. Shut all exit Doors.
7. Swipe-lock the main door using your URI ID card. The card-reader light will blink green when in locked mode.

Security

Ask students waiting for the next class to remain outside the classroom until their instructor arrives. You as Instructor are responsible for the room's security during your class time, so please lock up!
