Installation Instructions
- Download the latest version of the McAfee antivirus software to your desktop from the Download Center on the right.
- If the Virex disk does not show up on your desktop, double click the file VirusScan8.5.dmg.
- If you have a PowerPC processor, certain components will not work properly. You can download an older version on the right.
- When the disk mounts, then double click VirusScan.pkg.
- If a message pops up asking if you want to continue, click Continue.
- Click Continue when the release notes dialogue appears.
- Click Continue, then Agree to accept the license agreement.
- Select the hard drive you wish to install McAfee on, then click Continue.
- Select Easy Install, then click Install.
- If prompted for your username and password, enter them and click OK.
- When asked to configure the On Access Scanner, select Read or Write, then click Continue.
- When the installation is complete click OK.
- If prompted to restart your computer, click Restart.
