Downloading a Driver

In order to search for the necessary driver, you must know your system type and operating system. In order to find this information, follow the instructions below.

  • Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools, and click on System Info.
  • Under the System Info locate the System Type and the OS Name.

Once you have the appropriate system information, go to the printer website to search for the driver that is compatible with your system and the printer. Please note that most drivers are designed for a specific device or device series (i.e. a 3550 driver will not work for a 3700 printer, even if both drivers are made by the same company). After downloading the driver, install it using the instructions below.

Installing/ Updating Drivers

In order to install or update a printer driver;

  • Go to Start > Printers and Faxes.
  • Right click the printer you wish to update and select Properties from the options.
  • Select the Advanced tab and click on New Driver.
  • Follow the steps in the New Driver Wizard.
