Grinder is a UNIX server located on campus that is capable of processing functions and printing to a large-scale Designjet 4000PS printer/plotter. Currently, it is used as a print spooler.
Grinder Accounts
On July 1, 2008, the Grinder server was moved to a new hardware platform. To continue to use Grinder after that date, you will have to take two actions:
1. Have your userid re-validated on the new grinder, as follows:
- Obtain a userid request form from the Tyler Hall Dispatch Counter, the Help Desk, or via download from here
- Fill out the form and submit it at the Tyler Hall Dispatch Counter, the Help Desk, or via fax to 874-7171. You will be notified when your account has been created.
- Your userid will be changed to match your eCampus userid and your files will be copied to the new server; your old Grinder password will be used. If you do not have an eCampus username, fill out an ETAL account application first.
