Email Settings

Use the following incoming/outgoing settings.

Directions

1. Open the Microsoft Entourage Program.
2. Pull down the Tools menu and select "Run Schedule", then select "Edit Schedules". A new window will open.
3. Double click on the Send & Receive All item in the Name column. A new window will open.
4. Under "When", pull down the first menu on the left and select Repeating Schedule. New options will appear.
5. Select "Every 5 Minutes" or choose a greater periodicity. Click OK.
6. Click the red button to close the Schedules window.

1. Open Microsoft Entourage.
2. Click on the Entourage pull down menu.
3. Click on "Account Settings" within the menu. This should open up the the "Accounts" window.
4. Click on "New" button and select "Mail..." This should open up a "New Account" window.
5. Click on the selected "Account Type" and select POP if it isn't already selected. Click "Ok." This should open up the "Edit Account" window.
6. In the "Account Name" field, name the account.
7. In the "Name" field, enter your name in the manner that you wish it to be seen in emails.
8. In the "E-mail address" field, enter your E-mail address for URI.
9. Under "Receiving Mail", enter in your Webmail (eCampus) user name in the "Account ID" field.
10. In the "POP Server" field, enter in the appropriate URI incoming server (mail.uri.edu, postoffice.uri.edu, etal.uri.edu, or another).
11. In the "Password" field, enter in your password for Webmail (not for eCampus) and select if you wish to save the password on the computer.
12. Under "Sending Mail", enter the appropriate URI outgoing server (smtpserv.uri.edu, postoffice.uri.edu, etal.uri.edu, or another) in the "SMTP server" field.
13. Review your settings and select "Ok" to finish your configuration.

Advanced Settings

If you are experiencing problems with Entourage, try checking the port numbers and the other advanced settings. Within the "Edit Account" window:

1. Select "Click here for advanced receiving options." This should open up a new window.
2. All three settings should NOT be selected.
3. Click the small exit button at the top left of the window.
4. Select "Click here for advanced sending options." This should open up a new window.
5. Only the "SMTP server requires authentication" setting should be selected. Underneath it, "Use same settings as receiving server" should be selected.
6. Click the small exit button at the top left of the window and "Ok" within the "Edit Account" window to finish your configuration.

If you still experience problems, try to enter the advanced settings again, but select "Override default POP port:" as port number 110 and select "Override default SMTP port:" as port number 25.
