Explanation
These settings are for use with email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mac Mail. To send mail, users will need to consult these settings depending on their physical location.
On Campus
mail.uri.edu
Incoming mail server: mail.uri.edu Outgoing mail server: smtpserv.uri.edu
postoffice.uri.edu
Incoming mail server: postoffice.uri.edu Outgoing mail server: postoffice.uri.edu
etal.uri.edu
Incoming mail server: etal.uri.edu Outgoing mail server: etal.uri.edu
Microsoft Exchange
Incoming mail server: exchange.uri.edu Outgoing mail server: exchange.uri.edu
Off Campus
- Verizon outgoing: outgoing.verizon.net
- Cox outgoing: smtp.east.cox.net
Travel/Global
Rather than change settings between home and office, it may be more convenient to use the Webmail interface via a browser. This does not require the use of a client. Otherwise, if outside the state of Rhode Island, consult the link below.
