- Smart Board
The Smart Board works in conjunction with the computer and projector to allow you to interact with your desktop on a large scale. Using the Smart Board makes it possible to give type-written, as well as hand-written notes to the class, since both can be saved to a disk or emailed.
- Installed LCD Projector
The projector hangs stationary from the ceiling in front of the projector screen. Its video feed and power switch is controlled by the Extron Switcher (see "Turning Projector On/Off" and "Switching Inputs"). Do not operate manually.
NOTE: The Display Power ON and warm-up cycle time for the projector is 2 minutes. Any attempt to power OFF within this time period will crash the system. The warm-up time is done when the green light on the projector is no longer blinking. The projector can be re-powered ON- if needed again- after the 2-minute cool-down cycle.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not try to Power On/Off the projector prior to the 2-minute warm-up and/or cool down cycle.
WHEN DONE: Press the green Display Power button for 2 seconds. The Power Display button will not be lit. The last media source button used will remain lit.

To control the VCR, use the buttons on the face of the VCR player, or the VCR remote control stored in the Media Rack (5) Drawer. Manually power On/Off. Using the Smart Board:
The Smart Board can be used as a physical interface between you and the podium computer. The projector and podium computer must be powered on to project the computer image and communicate with it. You should see the desktop screen of the podium computer appear on the Smart Board.
You can use your fingers as the mouse cursor, (you will notice that the arrow follows your finger around the screen). To "left-click" on the desktop, tap once with your finger. For a "right-click", press the mouse button on the right side of the Smart Board tray (shown right). If you wish to type on the Smart Board, press the keyboard button above the mouse button from the last instruction. A virtual keyboard will appear on the screen, which you can use to type.
On the bottom left corner of the desktop image, there should be a "Smart Notebook" icon. This is the program with which you will take notes on the Smart Board. Double-tap it to open.
While SMART Notebook is open, or even when its not, you can use the pens and eraser on the tray to draw on the board. Each pen has an individual color associated with it, depending on which pen is out of its slot. You must remember to put each color pen in its own slot.
