Cookies gather information on users when they visit web sites. This information is transmitted back to the website of origin. Cookies can also be saved to one's hard disk as text files, including information about online purchases, validation information about users for members-only web sites, and more.
Please note that blocking cookies may also prevent you from accessing some websites, such as webmail, forums, and other sites that require you to log in.

Internet Explorer
1. Go to Tools, then Internet Options.
2. Select the Privacy tab at the top, then click "Advanced".
3. Click on "Override authomatic cookie handling" and set both available options to "Block".
Firefox (Windows)
1. Go to Tools, then Options, and select the Privacy tab.
2. Uncheck the box labeled "Accept cookies from sites".
Firefox (Macintosh)
1. Go to Firefox, then Preferences, and select the Privacy tab.
2. Uncheck the box labeled "Accept cookies from Sites".
Safari
1. Go to Safari, then Preferences, and select the Security tab.
2. Under "Accept Cookies", select "Never".
